Highlander recently launched its campaign to help members of the public to beat identity fraud, by formally welcoming all of central Scotland to take advantage of our new “Public drop off” service for redundant confidential waste papers. If you have old bank statements, utility bills, medical information or any papers with your name, address or date of birth contained within, then Highlander have the service Scotland has been looking for, to help beat identity fraud!
For £1 per bag, all you need to do is deliver the material to our depot in East Kilbride and we will receive, shred AND recycle the paper for you – Highlander have just recently invested over £100,000 in a complete upgrade and relocation of our shredding facility and now includes a brand new shredder and feed conveyor, new dedicated baler and conveyor feed system and upgrade of our Hammermill destruction unit with refurbished feed conveyor. The whole service is externally accredited by ISO Assured and the United Kingdom Security Shredding Association (UKSSA) to EN15713 standards and background checks of all our employees are also carried out to BS7858 requirements meaning that as well as offering a very competitive price, you can be assured of a professional and secure service at the same time.
Highlander Director Stephen Duffy commented: “We hear many stories of people ripping up their old bills and bank statements and putting them in their recycling bin or worse, their general waste bins then thinking the material is safe. There have been a number of instances where identity fraudsters literally rake through people’s bins and grab whatever papers they can to then try and commit fraud replicating the person’s identity – this can often allow fraudsters to gain access to people’s bank, credit card or other accounts, often with devastating circumstances for individuals. All people now need to do to eliminate identity fraud completely is bag up their old papers and deliver them to Highlander – we guarantee that we will shred, destroy and recycle the papers within 24 hours of receipt giving people absolute peace of mind! We can also collect material for a small fee in the Lanarkshire area – contact our shredding team at 01355 241 088 for more information here and our famous “Shark Van” will be round to uplift your material within 24 hours! ”
Highlander launched this new vital public service in the local papers – known as the “Lanarkshire 5 and Ayrshire 3” covering Wishaw, Motherwell, East Kilbride, Hamilton, Blantyre, Ayr, Irvine and Kilmarnock and we expect a big response from people looking to protect their identities!
