2 tons up in the air!
The Silverbirch Garden Centre have been using unsightly, costly and inefficient 1100L wheelie bins for cardboard waste for a long time as well as one of our monthly rental skips.
Highlander International Recycling Ltd were able to offer Silverbirch a more efficient rental deal on a baler, which convinced them to give it a go and install it to their site. Our Commercial Manager Geraldine O’Brien worked her magic, but the challenge was the lowering of the 2 ton baler from a height with the Hiab into the space, where the baling will be carried out. Precision was required in the also snowy and icy conditions. We did this early at 8am before the popular Garden Centre opened its doors to the public.
We loaded in excess of 10-12 1100L wheelie bins into the baler whilst on-site training the staff that morning and demonstrated the amazing capacity held within the hopper.
Silverbirch was able to see the huge cost savings on bins, skips, improved housekeeping and a great rebate for their cardboard.
And to top it off even further 221 trees were saved from just this one collection, saving their cardboard going to landfill and enabling us to facilitate 100% recycling of their cardboard into tissue paper, folders, note pads and much more!
