GLASS RECYCLING

At Highlander, we bring over two decades of experience in waste glass recycling across a range of commercial and industrial sectors in Scotland. Our dedicated recycling team is fully trained in the safe, efficient handling of large-scale glass disposal and is committed to ensuring that every item we process is treated with environmental responsibility and full compliance with SEPA regulations.

GETTING RID OF GLASS WASTE

Our glass disposal services are purpose-built for high-volume waste producers, particularly those in the beverage production and distribution industries. We understand that space, time and manpower are often limited, so we take care of everything for you.

Highlander operates a fleet of 8 curtain-side vehicles, ready to collect pallets of waste glass from your site within 24 hours. No forklift on-site? No problem. Two of our vehicles are equipped with rear-mounted Moffett Mounty forklifts, allowing our team to handle all pallet lifting and loading directly, with minimal disruption to your operations. We can uplift up to 28 pallets in one collection, and for larger volumes, our 45-foot articulated trailers can accommodate up to 56 pallets or 28 tonnes of glass in a single visit.

Prefer to manage your glass bottle recycling internally? We also provide bespoke containment solutions including liquid-retentive plastic tubs, 120–1100L wheeled bins and 14–30 yard skips—perfect for ongoing de-packing, rejected bottling line products, or onsite glass disposal needs.

Whatever the scale of your requirements, Highlander’s commitment to fast response times, responsible recycling, and flexible service options makes us the trusted partner for waste glass recycling throughout Scotland.

Sustainable, Eco-friendly recycling solutions

Once collected from your site, all glass waste is taken to a Highlander partner glass recycling centre in central Scotland, where it is processed into a wide range of new glass products such as bottles, jars and glasses. The sustainability of this process, where all your glass waste is collected and recycled within central Scotland, is truly unrivalled in the marketplace and, when married with our keen commercial terms for both collection and disposal of these materials, this makes Highlander the natural choice for your commercial glass recycling requirements!

If you have any branded glass products, Highlander can help here too! Highlander have numerous accreditations and certifications pertaining to our glass destruction activities and these extend to all materials we bring back for destruction, such as paper, packaging, plastics, wood and branded redundant glass packaging or glasses. We can confidently provide you peace of mind by operating to ISO9001 / EN15713 and ISO27001 standards at all times and can provide an official “certificate of destruction” for each and every branded glass consignment we receive or collect from your facility.
