Due to an exciting growth plan for 2023, Highlander are looking to recruit a van driver to add to their team. The successful candidate will responsible for collecting confidential waste paper from a range of businesses, and will be driving and operating up to 3.5 ton vans, with the option of larger vans depending on the candidates licence.
Highlander cover the whole of Scotland, and Northern England so the successful candidate would be expected to carry out long-distance driving when required, therefore a sound geographic knowledge would be advantageous.
It is also essential that you are physically fit as this role can involve lifting heavy bags/boxes of paper from various locations and can include general labour work within the yard, preparing different grades of paper for processing.
Key requirements and skills:
Clean driving licence
Class 2 licence, or licence with the ability to drive up to 7.5 ton would be advantageous
Flexible to work between the hours of 5 am and 7 pm.
Good time-keeping
Reliable and trustworthy
Aged 25 or over (fleet insurance)
In this role you will be the face of the company, liaising directly with customers, therefore, you must be well presented and have excellent communication skills.
